In 1895 development of Australia’s first irrigation settlement collapsed, and settlers drifted, walked, and ran from their properties as rabbits came in droves to feast on the roots of abandoned vines.
The 230 strong men refused to yield or compromise, they stayed on continuing to develop the land. The Markeas brothers have carefully crafted this wine using organically grown grapes and sustainable vineyard practices.
